There are places we return to with our eyes closed. A familiar roof, mountains all around, and a swing in front of the house. It feels as though sitting on that swing once more could make time move a little slower.
Dim grows from a memory of a house in the Carpathian Mountains, where Max Sheika spent much of his childhood. Power outages were common, the internet was never there, but there was music and endless hours alone with his imagination. The swing moved back and forth, while his thoughts wandered far beyond the surrounding mountains.
By the porch stands the shuttle from The Journey Home. The same spacecraft that carried Drim, Swim, and Nite across the Solar System now rests beside the front steps. A warm light glows in the living room, as though its passengers have simply stepped inside for a moment. Distant worlds can wait a little.
Details
In this house, extraordinary dreams were always part of ordinary days. Sometimes they led to distant planets and unknown worlds; other times, a few metres between the porch and the swing were all the space they needed.
His father once built the house where Max learned to dream. Today, they give those dreams shape together.
