# Max Sheika

> Max Sheika (b. 1999, Lviv) is a Ukrainian-Dutch artist based in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands. He works in bronze figurative sculpture, spatial images (the Dragonfly series — images with real optical depth that change as the viewer moves), and moving image. Bronze editions are represented by ARTITLEDcontemporary (NL).

The bronzes are cast and patinated in collaboration with the artist's father in Ukraine; the patinas come from that shared material research. The recurring figures — Drim, Swim, Nite — are children's characters equipped for something impossible: an astronaut helmet with hands still in the pockets, a diving helmet with Crocs, a knight in soft Uggs. The work takes imagination seriously and keeps it human with humour.

- [Lift, 2026](https://maxsheika.com/spatial-images/lift): Spatial image, 64 × 84 cm. The first finished work of the Dragonfly series — a Porsche lifted by balloons, built on a physical lens array so the image shows real depth as the viewer moves. Not a screen, not VR, not a print.
